Counseling for Individuals and Couples Pam Algar has a Master’s of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Loma Linda University, and is licensed with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). Pam is a Certified Hakomi Therapist (CHT). She has completed Level I and Level II EMDR training. She has advanced training in working with couples. Pam has trained in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) , Cognitive Processing Therapy and other trauma work approaches.
Pam is an approved provider for Alberta School Employees, Department of National Defense, Veterans Affairs, First Nations and Inuit Health, and other Employee Assistance Plans. She has been in private practice since 1998. Prior to that, she did counselling for seven years in the non-profit sector. In her private practice, Pam sees individuals and couples.

Therapeutic Approach Pam’s therapeutic approach is based on her belief that within each person is a desire for greater wholeness, health and fuller functioning. She provides a safe environment that allows each person to explore their struggles, find their resources, resolve their concerns, and develop a deeper relationship with themselves and others. Pam uses a gentle, respectful manner while offering honest feedback and guidance. She works wholistically using the wisdom and experiences of the mind, body, emotions and spirit.
Pam works collaboratively with physicians, complementary health care providers (i.e. massage therapists, naturopaths), and social workers to meet individual and family needs. Pam has a commitment to ongoing professional and personal development and regularly attends workshops, conferences, and seminars.
